Halo All,

I am new to this Forum, and found this is the right place to clear my doubts.

As the TOPIC of this forum is to discuss regarding KINDERGELD, i would like to request some quaries.

Before pointing to the question i would like to give brief information regarding my Personal data.
I am working as a Research Assistant (With Aufenthalserlaubnis) at RWTH University since 3.5 years. My Wife joined 2 years ago (house wife) and now we are parents of 2 months kid (First).

--> I came to know that every person who is living in GERMANY will get KINDERGELD. Is it SO?
--> IF so, Who is AntragStller ?

--> What reasons should i select (For example, Haushaltsaufnahme, ....)

Thank you in advance.

Hello!
You should go to the "Agentur für Arbeit", the "Kindergeldstelle" is a part of this governmental institution, may be at another building. I'm quite sure, that you can get the Kindergeld.

The Antragsteller can be you or your wife. And go to the local government (Rathaus, Bürgeramt) with your "Lohnsteuerkarte" to fix the children at Lohnsteuerkarte, you will pay less incoming taxes...

And also you can ask for information about "Elterngeld" for your wife, because she is a housewife, it would be roundabout 300 EUR. But I'm not sure, if you can get it.

I hope this will be helpful...

depends on your nationality. I thought
that one had to have lived and paid taxes in Germany
for eight years for Kindergeld to be paid for a child.
Suggest you consult the Auslandsamt at the University in
Aachen.

Hello!
I have found this link from wikipedia: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindergeld

If you have nationality of EU, you can get Kindergeld, if not, you would need a "Niederlassungserlaubnis"...

Have a look at "Voraussetzungen Eltern"...

it also depends on the type of Erlaubnis and
HOW long he has been working here.
Also his nationality, which he does not mention.
Not an English-speaking country I presume.
